  • Researching source information, accurate equipment and product names, and manufacturers’ guidelines

  • Writing up summaries of those important meeting notes

  • Tackling those humongous data tables to eyeball size

  • Coordinating the document production process with reviewers, subconsultants, and repro staff in multiple offices

  • Converting those reports to PDF files, HTML, or CDs

Let At Your Service Editing help you to define your documents, levels of edit, and estimate costs to obtain the highest possible level of quality at the lowest possible cost in the shortest possible turnaround time.

1 Proofreading (approximately 7-10 pages per hour)

  • Comparing original and revised versions, checking for typos, revising punctuation, numbering, capitalization, and ensuring that nothing is missing, no statement is ridiculous.

2 Copy editing (approximately 3-6 pages per hour)

  • Proofreading plus quickly double-checking for spelling and grammar errors, style inconsistencies, and any verbiage fatal flaws. Checking for accuracy and making reorganization suggestions.

3 Comprehensive editing

A slower paced, higher degree of copy editing that includes cross-checking organizational issues, quality control for clear presentation, and re-writing suggestions in tracked mode for final review. Initially the editor may be involved with document planning, including overall process production scheduling and cost estimating. For a complex project, the editor may coordinate with clients, subconsultants, vendors, and others, as well as confer with various document authors.
